Forum Energy Technologies (FET) has added new features to its video recording services for the survey and inspection of subsea equipment.

VisualSoft Suite 11.1 has been upgraded to enable integration with FET’s latest digital video recording system, VisualDVR. The multi-channel equipment can be deployed on ROVs for the offshore energy and other sectors.

New support for IP cameras is said to allow users to connect up to four IP sources or a combination of IP and SDI sources, with resolutions of up to 1,080 p at 60 fps.

The company cites growing requirements for HD/SD IP cameras in ROV survey and inspection programs.

Another new feature in the V11.1 is a switchable source mode that allows the operator to keep multiple cameras connected to the digital video recorder and to record any one camera, also switching between the cameras while still recording.

This should be of interest for structural inspections, FET said.
