Polarcus contracts seismic acquisition equipment from ION

HOUSTON --The Polarcus Group has contracted ION Geophysical Corp.'s Marine Imaging Systems group to equip all six of Polarcus' new vessels with four-streamer positioning and control technologies from ION's Intelligent Acquisition product line. The agreement is valued at more than $25 million and covers DigiFIN, CompassBIRD, DigiRANGE II, and Orca command and control systems.
"These technologies enable the customer to proactively position and optimize the streamer spread while decreasing acquisition complexity, cycle time, and cost," says Dave Moffatt, senior VP of Marine Imaging at ION.
