EDINBURGH, Scotland -- The Bergen Surveyor has completed a 7,500-km (4,660-mi) 2D seismic survey over the Rhone Maritime concession off southern France, according to Melrose Resources.

Average density over the entire block was one line per 2.5 km (1.55 mi). The data will now be processed and interpreted. Melrose expects preliminary results to be issued this summer.

Following a farm-in agreement, Noble Energy has taken on responsibility for physical operations on the concession, with Melrose retaining a 27.5% working interest.

In the Romanian sector of the Black Sea, Melrose has finalized the terms of its concession agreements for offshore blocks 27 and 28 (Muridava and East Cobalcescu) with Romania’s National Agency for Mineral Resources. Following signature, the documents will be passed to government Ministries for ratification.

Offshore Bulgaria, the recently onstream Kaliakra and Kavarna fields are producing at a peak rate of 45 MMcf/d of gas.

Earlier this year, operations at Kavarna were affected by the failure of subsea connections on a flow line injecting glycol into the main gas line connecting the field to the Galata platform. This caused a hydrate blockage in the gas pipeline which temporarily restricted production.

However, the issue was resolved after the DSV GSP Prince replaced the suspect connections.
