Gazprom Neft acquires seismic over prospective Kara Sea block

ST PETERSBURG, Russia – Gazprom Neft has completed a seismic survey in the Gulf of Ob region of the Kara Sea, northern Russia.
The purpose of the program on the Yuzhno-Obsky license block was to improve definition of a potential prospect for drilling purposes.
Six vessels were involved in the campaign, equipped to operate in water depths of less than 7 m (23 ft). The work scope comprised acquiring 410 sq km (158 sq mi) of 3D seismic and 115 km (71.5 mi) of 2D data in the surrounding waters.
The Yuzhno-Obsky block is in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug area, close to the Novoportovskoye (Novy Port) project infrastructure.
Gazprom Neft secured subsoil usage rights in 2018.
