The contract provides for all necessary subsurface advisory services within offshore oil and gas developments to support CHC in taking the best possible technical and commercial decisions for the benefits of the Republic of Cyprus and its population regarding the exploitation of current and potential hydrocarbon resources in the Cyprus EEZ.
Cyprus Hydrocarbons Co. (CHC) has awarded BorchWix Energy Advisors (BWEA) a three-year oil and gas subsurface advisory services contract.
This is a follow-on to a similar contract that a BWEA and Baldey Ashton & Associates (BA) have been working on with CHC since the start of 2023.
The contract scope covers exploration, appraisal and field development activities offshore southern Cyprus, the goal being to help CHC take appropriate technical and commercial decisions on exploitation of resources to the nation’s benefit.
BWEA/BA’s program covers:
Geological studies, including basin evolution, play fairway analysis, depositional modeling, petroleum system analysis, static modeling, and core/log interpretation;
Petroleum engineering studies (e.g., well construction design, dynamic simulation and production forecasting);
Formation evaluation, including open-hole log evaluation, petrography, pressure, core and fluid analysis;
Geophysical studies (e.g., rock physics, synthetic modeling, seismic interpretation and velocity modeling);
Resources evaluation and risking studies, such as volumetric assessments, peer review and geological risking; and
Integrated asset studies, including development concept evaluation and alternatives assessment.
