Murphy Oil provides offshore project updates in its latest results statement.

Murphy Oil has spud the first of two planned exploration wells offshore Vietnam, the company said in a results statement.

The current Hai Su Vang-1X well in Block 15-2/17 will be followed by the Lac Da Hong-1X exploration well in Block 15-1/05. Murphy serves as operator, with a 40% working interest.

Construction has started on the platform for the Lac Da Vang field development in the offshore Cuu Long Basin, with first oil targeted for 2026 followed by continued development through 2029. The estimated recoverable resource is 100 MMboe.

In the US Gulf of Mexico, Murphy has brought online the Mormont #3 well in Green Canyon 478 and completed workovers on the Neidermeyer, Dalmatian and non-operated Kodiak fields.

Drilling has started on the Mormont #4 well, and water injection has begun at Chevron’s St. Malo waterflood project.

Murphy’s Sebastian #1 exploratory well in Mississippi Canyon 387 encountered non-commercial hydrocarbons and has been plugged and abandoned.
