MOSCOW – Lukoil has installed the topsides of the wellhead platform for the Yuri Korchagin Phase 2 development in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
This is a satellite platform designed to drill wells in the eastern part of the field. Drilling should start later this month.
The platform is also equipped with safety systems, a helideck, and living quarters for temporary visits by personnel (most of the operations are automated, so only eight workspaces have been allocated).
Produced oil and gas will be exported to the host platform through subsea pipelines where it will undergo treatment for subsequent delivery ashore.
