MOSCOW – Lukoil has completed transportation and started installation of the substructure for the new wellhead platform for the third development phase of the Vladimir Filanovsky field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
The mini offshore ice-resistant fixed platform will produce and gather crude oil and export this to the field’s first-phase central processing platform.
Phase 3 is focused on the western part of the reservoir and on maintaining a stable production plateau.
The Galaktika shipyard in Astrakhan built the substructure for the new platform and this was transported to the installation site via the Volga-Caspian shipping canal.
LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft is currently building the topsides at its construction and assembly yard.
First oil should flow through the wellhead platform next year. Most of the onboard operations will be automated, with only a minimal need for service personnel.
