Oceanus is responsible for transportation and installation of the 7,000-metric ton (7,716-ton) structure topsides from Laem Chabang, Thailand, to theLNG import terminal location in Bahrain on behalf of EPC contractor GS E&C.

Aqualis’ scope of work covers project management services, floatover engineering, and supervision for loadout and floatover installation operations. The work, managed from the company’s Singapore office, is due to be completed in 3Q 2018.

Facilities at the terminal will include a fixed platform for unloading LNG carriers, a newbuild floating storage unit, and onshore reception plant.

Phil Lenox, Aqualis’ director – Asia Pacific, said: “Although this is not a particularly heavy topside compared to many floatovers, the project has some interesting challenges with the shallow water depth.”
