DUBAI, UAE – Dubai Petroleum (DP) has awarded RWG a three-year master service agreement to maintain Siemens SGT-A20 AV gas generators at the Fateh oil field, 90 km (56 mi) offshore Dubai.

The contract scope includes a major overhaul of DP’s fleet of Industrial Avon Mk 1535 and Avon 200 gas generators, with disassembly, inspection and repair or replacement of unserviceable components, and performance testing before the engines are returned to service.

RWG will undertake the engine overhauls at its Industrial Avon service facility in Aberdeen, also providing field service support at DP’s Jebel Ali facility and offshore installations for unscheduled heavy maintenance, field repairs, trouble-shooting and engine re-commissioning.

DP operates a mixed fleet of Siemens aero-derivative equipment, including Industrial Avon and Siemens SGT-A30 RB (Industrial RB211) gas generators, providing power for gas compression and water flood applications.

According to RWG, the Industrial Avon 200 life extension upgrade introduced in 2007 (the generators were originally developed in the 1960s) brought improved power and thermal efficiency and extended mean times between overhauls.

DP was an early adopter of this technology.
