DNV GL to deliver verification services for Tyra redevelopment

Maersk Oil has contracted DNV GL to provide independent verification services for the Tyra redevelopment project offshore Denmark.

HØVIK, Norway– Maersk Oil has contracted DNV GL to provide independent verification services for the Tyra redevelopment project offshore Denmark.

The contract scope includes independent verification and support services and ultimately the certification of all greenfield activities. This work will take place during the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, hook-up and commissioning phases for two new jackets and eight topsides: one central processing facility, one accommodation platform, four wellhead modules and two riser modules.

The contract will be coordinated by DNV GL in Denmark, with company personnel from multiple offices supporting the construction in fabrication yards across the world over the next five years.

The company said that theindependent third-party verification will help Maersk Oil to ensure transparent package status and the real-time reporting of equipment-salient points, provide technical assurance, and enable the operator to manage project risks.

TheTyra field in the Danish North Sea has been at the center of Denmark’s national energy infrastructure since 1984, providing 90% of the country’s gas production.
