ABERDEEN, UK – Apache has contracted Xodus Group to provide subsea engineering services for two new infill well developments at the Nevis and Skene fields in the UK northern North Sea. Both are connected to the Beryl complex.
The scope includes a new technique for designing and fabricating spools with no requirement for metrology, the aim being to provide time savings.
Over the previous 18 months Xodus also worked for Apache on conceptual front-end engineering and design and detailed design studies for the Beryl field’s Far North Triassic 4-km (2.5-mi) long tieback.
This involved a production flexible, gas lift flexible and an electro-hydraulic controls umbilical tied back to the Beryl Bravo platform.
In addition to performing detailed design, Xodus package-managed delivery of the production flexible on Apache’s behalf, helping the operator to deliver first oil 11 months after drilling the well, ahead of schedule and more than 30% below budget.
