STAVANGER, Norway -- Statoil has awarded Aker Solutions two contracts related to its Gudrun field development in the Norwegian North Sea. These concern tie-ins to the Sleipner complex and associated modifications. The value of the order, which replaces the letter of intent issued in mid-July, is around $148 million.
The Sleipner area is the second largest producer of gas in the Norwegian North Sea after the Troll field. Sleipner will process oil and gas from Gudrun, also supplying power to the new Gudrun platform via an undersea cable.
Aker Solutions will manage the work out of its regional office in Stavanger, using prefabrication resources at its yard in Egersund. All the work is due to be completed in October 2013.
