Woodside Energy has issued updates on its field development activities in the Gulf of Mexico and elsewhere in a results statement.
In the US GoM, the company conducted a shutdown at the Shenzi field center to implement integrity and reliability programs. In November, it restored a Shenzi well to production following an unplanned outage.
As a partner to operator bp, it is participating in a new infill development well at the Mad Dog A-Spar. Drilling is underway of a new infill injector well, which should be completed during the current quarter at Mad Dog Argos.
Offshore Mexico, the Woodside-operated deepwater Trion field development was 20% complete at the end of fourth-quarter 2024. Construction is progressing of the semisubmersible floating production unit, the subsea flexible piping system and subsea equipment.

Production has risen from the offshore Kipper field following startup of new gas compression facilities. Bass Strait decommissioning included the completion of plug and abandonment (P&A) of wells on the Perch and Dolphin facilities.
Offshore Western Australia, ongoing decommissioning work includes P&A of three wells at the Stybarrow field, and the removal of moorings, structures and wellheads at various other fields.
Last year the company P&A’d seven Stybarrow wells, and it retrieved more than 90 subsea structures including wellheads, xmas trees and manifolds, and 149 km of pipeline.
Offshore Namibia, Woodside has an option to acquire a 56% interest in petroleum exploration license 87, after receiving a seismic license in November. It is assessing the seismic data in the run-up to a final decision on whether to take up the farm-in option, which must be taken by May 18.
