MUMBAI -- ONGC has contracted Larsen & Toubro for four wellhead platforms for Phase II of its Mumbai High North (MHN) redevelopment.
In production since 1974, ONGC is boosting Mumbai High with new lift techniques and improved reservoir recovery.
Under the turnkey project, Larsen & Toubro will have single-point responsibility for engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of the platforms, each of which will have 12 well slots with remote well testing and monitoring from the NQ/MHN complex.
L&T Valdel in Bangalore, Chennai, and Faridabad will perform the engineering with construction by L&T’s yards at Hazira, and at Sohar, Oman. The package will comprise 23,000 metric tons (25,353 tons) of jackets and topsides, which will also be equipped with wind turbine and hybrid power systems.
