Three more South Pars gas field phases close to start-up

ASSALUYEH, Iran – Gas production from the South Pars field in the Persian Gulf should exceed 750 MMcm/d by late 2019, according to Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh.
He was addressing a ceremony to officially launchphases 13 and 22-24 in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. All are expected to be in production by mid-year.
Zangeneh said the first South Pars development contract was struck back in 1997, but until August 2005, only five phases of the field had been completed.
In 2014, Phase 12 came online followed by completion of phases 15 and 16 by 2015, with six more phases starting production in early 2017.
