The 67-km (41.6-mi) subsea control umbilical connecting the offshore Sole gas field to APA Group’s Orbost gas plant on the coast of Victoria has undergone testing following installation.

ADELAIDE, Australia – The 67-km (41.6-mi) subsea control umbilical connecting the offshore Sole gas field to APA Group’s Orbost gas plant on the coast of Victoria has undergone testing following installation.
According to operator Cooper Energy, this concludes the offshore construction phase of theSole gas project.
Repair of thedamaged pipe section is due to start in late April. All facilities should be ready and available to deliver gas to Orbost by end-May 2019.
Work is also progressing on the upgrade of Orbost to process Sole’s gas, with plant completion most likely within the September quarter.
Gas supply from Sole should start flowing prior to completion of the plant for the commissioning and subsequent performance test.
