Second Bualuang platform on offshore journey to Gulf of Thailand

LONDON– Thai Nippon Steel has completed construction of the new Bualuang Bravo platform jacket in Bangpakong, Thailand.
According to operator Salamander Energy, the jacket currently is aboard Nippon Steel’sK-1 heavy-lift vessel and is sailing to the Bualuang oil field in the Gulf of Thailand.
It should arrive at the field location on Oct. 27, ready for installation. Shortly afterward, sail-away and subsequent installation of the deck will follow.
Salamander aims to have the Bravo platform ready to receive theAtwood Mako rig around the middle of November for the start of a 16-well development program. Bualuang produces more than 8,200 b/d of oil.
