COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Maersk Oil has contracted Ramboll Oil and Gas for optimization studies on the producing Tyra gas complex in the Danish North Sea.

The Tyra East Rationalisation Project is designed to accommodate the needs of late field life at Tyra under lower reservoir pressure.

Maersk expects gas and condensate production to decline, but intends to accelerate tail-end output in order to increase overall recovery from the field by adding additional wellhead compression. It also has decided to reduce the gas processing capacity in line with future demand, thereby lowering operating costs.

Last year, Maersk also awarded Ramboll work for the Tyra East wellhead compression scheme, part of the same facilities optimization program.

In the Norwegian North Sea, Ramboll has been contracted for a front-end engineering and design (FEED) study for a planned new subsea pipeline. The aim is to ensure gas transport export capacity from planned and future field developments.

Ramboll is also performing various environmental studies for Statoil on a large-scale Norwegian decommissioning project. The studies will serve as a basis for handling of content in storage cells and for preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment.
