TEHRAN, Iran – Development drilling is scheduled to get under way shortly on the South Pars field Phase 14 project offshore Iran.
National Iranian Drilling Co. has allocated two rigs for the program. Phase 14 is designed to deliver 56.5 MMcm (≈2 bcf) of sour gas and 75,000 b/d of gas condensate. The company is also in charge of drilling operations at phases 17 and 18.
Another contractor, Petropars, is responsible fordevelopment of Phase 12. Managing Director Mohammad Javad Shams told news service Shana that various platform decks would be installed offshore in September and October, followed by initial production from the A12 platform.
Phase 12 will produce 75 MMcm/d (2.6 bcf/d) of gas for injection into the Iranian gas grid, and for use as LNG feedstock. It will also deliver 120,000 b/d of gas condensate and 750 t/d of sulfur.
Sadra Compa is building two wellhead platforms in southern Iran for phases 17 and 18, and four platforms for phases 22-24.
