Penspen lands Saudi gasline supervisory role

RICHMOND, UK – Kuwait Gulf Oil Co. has contracted the Penspen Group for project management services.

This concerns detailed design and construction of the new Gas & Condensate Export System (GCES) from Khafji in Saudi Arabia to Kuwait, for whichTechnip is the EPC contractor. The project is designed to deliver condensate and gas to Kuwait from Saudi Arabia, and to help Saudi Arabia reduce gas flaring.

Facilities will include a 110-km (68-mi), 12-in. (30.5-cm) pipeline transporting 40 MMcf/d of gas to Kuwait, of which 47 km (29 mi) will be offshore.

Penspen will project manage Technip’s detailed design work and procurement activities, and construction undertaken by Technip and its sub-contractors. Penspen will also assist with commissioning of the final scheme.
