Kongsberg to supply controls, power for Gina Krog floater

Teekay Shipping has contracted Kongsberg Maritime Engineering (KME) to supply an integrated control and safety system (ICSS) and power package for Statoil’s Gina Krog field FSO destined for the Norwegian North Sea.

KONGSBERG, Norway – Teekay Shipping has contracted Kongsberg Maritime Engineering (KME) to supply an integrated control and safety system (ICSS) and power package for Statoil’s Gina Krog field FSO destined for the Norwegian North Sea.
Teekay is converting the FSO under a $220-million program. The vessel is due to be delivered in 1Q 2017.
KME’s deliveries start this summer. The company’s scope includes design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and supply of all materials, equipment, accessories, and tools required for the ICSS; an mv switchboard, an lv switchboard (440VAC/230VAC), thruster transformers, thruster drives, thruster motors, and 230V AC distribution.
