LONDON -- Alpha Petroleum Resources (APR), the former UK subsidiary of ATP, has received tenders for the pipeline route and site survey for the Blythe field development in the UK southern North Sea.
According to partnerIndependent Oil & Gas (AIM:IOG.L), vessel availability restrictions mean results will probably be unavailable until 3Q. Submission of the Blythe field development plan to Britain’s Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) is now set for 4Q 2014.
First gas is now targeted for mid-2016.BP Gas Marketing has agreed to buy IOG’s 50% share of production.
East of Blythe, IOG plans to reprocess 3D seismic over the Harvey discovery and the Truman prospect to assess their potential. One or both could potentially be tied back to the Blythe hub.
IOG hopes to completed acquisition of 100% of the Cronx license by the end of this year, subject to securing funding for a pilot well. This would also allow the company to qualify as an exploration operator on the UK continental shelf (IOG submitted its application to DECC to operate this license in March).
As for the APR-operatedSkipper license in the UK northern North Sea, an appraisal well on the Skipper prospect will likely be drilled in the second or third quarter of 2015. The well will additionally target two underlying exploration prospects directly beneath the Skipper discovery.
AGR Well Services is working with the partners to secure a suitable drilling rig.
Finally, IOG has applied for three licenses in the UK’s 28th SeawardLicensing Round. All contain discoveries.
