TEHRAN, Iran – Production from the Forouzan oil field in the Persian Gulf is expected to double in the next two years following the addition of new facilities, according to a report by news service Shana.
Ebrahim Delavaran, an official in charge of the development, said: “Given the longevity of this field, reservoir pressure fall-off and accumulation of water in the wells, the productivity has declined sharply.”
Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. has commissioned construction of the LQA and FZA platforms (by an unnamed South Korean contractor), subsea pipelines, and a gas pressure booster station.
The field’s associated gas will be harnessed for use in the LNG complex in Kharg Island.
