GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands –Petrobras America has awarded Subsea 7 a $50-million contract to engineer and install power cables, control umbilicals, and jumpers at Cascade and Chinook in the Gulf of Mexico.
The project involves 70 km (43.5 mi) of power cables and control umbilicals, plus fabrication of 16 jumpers. The work will be in Walker Ridge block 425 waters of 2,300 m to 3,000 m (7,545 ft to 9.842 ft) water depths.
Engineering is scheduled for Subsea 7's Houston office and the jumper fabrication is set for Subsea 7's Mobile, Alabama, base.
