BILLINGSTAD, Norway --StatoilHydro has contracted Aibel to install new living quarters modules for the Troll A platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

The $180-million contract terms cover area preparation, followed by installation and integration of the modules on the platform. They will increase bed capacity on Troll A by 150, and will include a new central control room and kitchen.

Aibel will perform engineering for this project in Strand, Oslo, with fabrication taking place at the company's yard in Haugesund. Mobilization for offshore work should start late-2008 to early-2009.

The new modules should be ready for service in 2011, the timing coinciding with a program to develop Troll A's production capacity.
