SEOUL, South Korea – DSME reports signing a Heads of Agreement to develop the Tamar gas field offshore Israel in the Mediterranean. Tamar is 80 km west of Haifa.
DSME says it plans to conduct a feasibility study for an FLNG with the aim of signing a contract by the end of 2012. Noble, Delek, and Isramco jointly hold the Tamar field. Daewoo Shipbuilding says there are 2.8 tcm (98.88 tcf) of gas reserves offshore Israel.
DSME also says this could lead to construction of more FLNGs if it is successful.
