STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has approved Lundin Norway’s development plan for the Brynhild field in PL148 in the North Sea.
Brynhild is in license PL 148, close to the Norway-UK median line, and 210 km (130 mi) from the Norwegian mainland.
Development will involve a three-well subsea tieback to the Shell-operated Pierce FPSO in the UK sector, 38 km (24 mi) south of Brynhild.
First production is expected late in 2013, at a peak rate (net) of 12,000 boe/d. The hydrocarbons will be processed onboard the Pierce FPSO before offloading for further transportation.
Lundin operates the field in partnership with Talisman Energy and Noreco.
