LONDON – BG has decided not to proceed with construction of a bridge-linked platform (BLP) adjacent to its Lomond field in the UK central North Sea. The BLP would have formed part of the export route for gas and gas/condensate from the Serica-operated Columbus field.
The Columbus partners must now review other alternatives for exporting the field’s production. This could include a direct subsea tieback of Columbus to the existing Lomond platform.
Serica says BG’s decision is unrelated to the Columbus field.
