READING, UK – ABT has formed an exclusive agreement with GMC to expand the latter’s buoyant development solutions. These will be handled by ABT Oil and Gas, ABT’s joint venture with Enegi Oil.
The aim is to develop a self-installing, buoyant offshore platform supporting modular production systems and drilling equipment.
Like ABT’s buoy concept, the platform will be designed to be scalable, re-deployable, and can be unmanned, cutting capital and operational costs.
GMC’s concept can also provide storage for produced oil either on the seabed or within the buoyant structure, or alternatively be equipped with facilities to export produced oil and gas to nearby infrastructure.
The system can also be redeployed with alternative topside modules installed to meet the operating requirements of follow-on fields.
GMC was involved in the design and construction of thebuoyant tower platform for BPZ’s Corvina field offshore Peru.
