McDermott wins further platform, pipeline work offshore the Middle East

HOUSTONMcDermott International has won contracts for three brownfield projects offshore the Arabian Peninsula.

These involved integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) services for jackets, topsides, subsea pipelines and cables on various fields and additional scope on an existing contract.

McDermott’s teams in Dubai and Chennai, India, will work on the engineering through 2017.

The Dubai division will handle procurement and fabrication, while the company will allocate shallow-water vessels for the marine installation.

In its latest results statement, McDermott says work has started on a recently awarded offshorepipeline-related EPCI project in the Middle East and should be completed later this year.

Fabrication of 12 jackets under the lump-sum project awarded under theSaudi Aramco long-term agreement (LTA II) remains on track, with six jackets loaded out and installed this year and a further three awaiting load out.

Installation and hookup activities also continue for the ADMA 4 Gas Injection project in Abu Dhabi.
