TEHRAN, Iran – Petro Gohar Farasahel Kish Co. (PGFK) has completed drilling of eight wells from platform 24B for phases 22-24 of the South Pars field in the Persian Gulf.
Drilling took less than 20 months to complete, according to managing director Masood Ziari, and on average 71.8 days per well. Earlier this year PGFK completed drilling from platform 24A.
Records established at 24B included drilling a 32-in. section in nine hours. Some of the wells featured a 60° angle.
Phases 22, 23, and 24 are being developed via two main platforms (22 and 23) and two satellite platforms (24A and 24B). PGFK is drilling a total of 38 wells. The campaign will add 1 bcf/d gas to production capacity at South Pars.
All platforms are expected to be operational by October 2017.
