TEHRAN, Iran – Development of the South Pars field in the Persian Gulf could be accelerated, according to a report by news service Shana.
Managing director of Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. (IOEC) Gholam-Reza Manouchehri said seven new phases could become operational within the next 35 months.
A consortium of Iran’s Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), National Iranian Drilling Co. (NIDC), Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex Co. (ISOICO), and IOEC are in charge of Phase 14, designed to produce 56.5 MMcm/d of sour gas and, 75,000 b/d of gas condensate.
Pars Oil and Gas Co. (POGC) is developing Phase 19 for the Petropars Ltd./Petropars Iran and IOEC consortium. The two Petropars divisions are responsible for onshore installations and drilling operations.
Phases 20 and 21 are being developed to produce 50 MMcm/d of natural gas for feeding into Iran’s national trunkline and 77,000 b/d of gas condensate for exports.
Phases 22, 23, and 24 will produce 56.6 MMcm/d of sour gas and 75,000 b/d of gas condensate.
Another Shana report revealed that three more wells should be completed for Phase 12 over the next two months from platform 12B, lifting production above 2.4 bcf/d. POGC is the operator.
