NORTH PERTH, Australia—Hartshead Resources has awarded contracts for its Phase 1 development of the Anning and Somerville gas fields in the southern UK North Sea.
Petrofac Facilities Management will perform the FEED for the platforms and for the interlinked subsea pipelines that will connect to Shell’s Corvette export system with onward gas transport to the Leman-A complex, associated risers and tie-in to the Anning platform.
The Phase I development is now progressing from the concept select phase to the concept define phase, ahead of a final investment decision, which Hartshead anticipates later in 2023.
Petrofac previously assisted with the Phase 1 Greenfield concept select phase, which identified the preferred arrangement of two wireline-capable, normally unmanned platforms connected to the Shell infrastructure.
In addition, UK-based consultancy TelosNRG will support and advise Hartshead with preparation of the Phase 1 field development plan, which Hartshead expects to submit to the North Sea Transition Authority in first-quarter 2023.
The company is assessing contract awards for geotechnical and geophysical surveys to cover the two gas field developments, and it aims to secure vessels for the campaign in first-quarter or second-quarter 2023. Main objectives will be to support interpretation of the seabed geomechanical and soil conditions, both at the field locations and along the subsea pipeline route.
Finally, Hartshead has confirmed it plans to participate in the UK’s 33rd Offshore Licensing Round, which has a closing date for submission of Jan. 12, 2023.
