ABERDEEN, UK  Ithaca Energy remains on track to deliver first oil from its Abigail Field development in the UK central North Sea, according to the company’s latest results statement.

Abigail is a subsea tieback to the FPF1 floating production platform serving the Greater Stella Area.

Phase 1 of the subsea construction involved installation of a subsea manifold and subsea isolation riser base structure, with placement of the production and gas-lift pipeline following in Phase 2.

In the Moray Firth area of the North Sea, topsides construction and preparations continue for Ithaca’s Captain EOR Program Stage II. Pre-assembled units were recently fitted, with the caisson due to be installed.

The drilling rig Pioneer mobilized in June for a campaign comprising four additional producer wells and up to six injectors to optimize oil recovery from an area of the Upper Captain Sands reservoir that is produced using subsea wells.

Subsea infrastructure installations will continue in phases through 2024.

As for Ithaca’s non-operated projects in the central North Sea, Shell has completed the onshore scope of a life extension project on the FPSO Haewene Brim to allow for reservoir depressurization on the Pierce Field.

The vessel was towed from Haugesund, Norway, this spring to be reconnected to subsea infrastructure and commissioned for production, now expected to restart during the third quarter.

And at the Jade Field, operated by Harbour Energy, drilling continues on well 30/2c-J14 with production likely to begin shortly.
