PARIS – ADNOC has contracted Technip Energies to update the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the Ghasha mega-project offshore Abu Dhabi.
The scope includes optimizing costs and speeding the integration of carbon capture into the development.
The project is part of the Ghasha concession: ADNOC and partners Eni, Wintershall Dea, OMV, and Lukoil plan to develop untapped oil and gas reserves from the Ghasha concession fields, under what is said to be the world’s largest offshore sour gas development to date.
Gas production could exceed 1.5 bcf/d, along with condensate and oil.
Operations are due to start in 2025, building to full production by the end of the decade.
