ABU DHABI, UAEADNOC has awarded two EPC contracts with a total value of $1.46 billion for the offshore Dalma sour gas development project in the Ghasha concession.

NPCC’s Package A contract covers EPC services for four offshore wellhead towers, pipelines, and umbilicals on the Hair Dalma, Satah, and Bu Haseer fields.

A joint venture between Técnicas Reunidas and Target Engineering JV has the Package B contract, covering gas conditioning facilities for gas dehydration, compression and associated utilities on Arzanah Island, 80 km (49.7 mi) from Abu Dhabi.

Work in both cases should finish in 2025, allowing the offshore Dalma field, 190 km (118 mi) northwest of Abu Dhabi, to produce around 340 MMcf/d of natural gas. ADNOC has issued orders for long lead items and has completed seven development wells at the field to date.

In addition, the company and its partners have contracted Technip Energies to update the front-end engineering and design for the Ghasha concession.

In the concession area, three artificial islands have already been completed, and production should start around 2025, ramping up to over 1.5 bcf/d before the end of the decade.

Use of artificial islands eliminates the need to dredge more than 100 locations for wells, while also providing additional habitats for marine life.
