Saipem wins T&I work for Sakarya, Jansz-Io gas projects

Saipem has secured two offshore transportation and installation contracts with a combined value of more than $600 million.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, ItalySaipem has secured two offshore transportation and installation contracts with a combined value of more than $600 million.

One is for Turkish Petroleum’s Sakarya gas field development, 175 km (109 mi) offshore the coast of Eregli in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.

Saipem will transport and install pipelines in water depths of up to 2,200 m (7,218 ft), with most of the operations performed by the pipelay vessel Castorone. Offshore operations are due to start next spring.

The other contract, from Chevron Australia, is for the Jansz-lo subsea compression project, 200 km (124 mi) offshore Australia’s northwestern coast in water depths of around 1,400 m (4,593 ft).

Jansz-lo is part of the Gorgon project, comprising various producing gas fields. Offshore operations, conducted by the Constellation vessel, will start in 2024.
