WEST PERTH, Australia – Carnarvon Petroleum and partner Advance Energy are working to shorten the timeline to first production from the Buffalo oil field redevelopment in the Timor Sea.
Assuming appraisal drilling is successful – the jackup Valaris JU-107 is set to spud the well in early November – they have been negotiating with various companies on the supply and installation of suitable equipment for producing the oil.
A site survey of the anticipated surface location has been undertaken, with confirmation that the location is suitable for the rig.
Other contracts have been awarded to support vessels, helicopters, drilling service providers and shore base/logistics suppliers. Equipment is currently being mobilized in preparation for drilling.
