SOUTHBANK, Australia – Karoon Energy has received notification that Brazil’s ANP has approved its integrated development plan for the Neon and Goiá fields (formerly Echidna and Kangaroo) in the Santos basin offshore Brazil.
The plan had been submitted in December 2019, although Karoon is now performing additional engineering studies for Neon in order to optimize the development plan.
This includes assessing use of the semisubmersible Maersk Developer contracted for the Baúna intervention campaign and Patola development to drill a control well.
Karoon will then decide whether to proceed to a final investment decision concerning Neon.
