LONDON – Installation operations have finished for the gas production platforms at the Blythe and Southwark fields in the UK southern North Sea.
HSM in Schiedam, the Netherlands, constructed the normally unmanned installations for Independent Oil and Gas (IOG).
After the suction pile foundations had been fixed to the seafloor and the jacket legs cut to height, the Seaway Strashnov lifted both topsides into place.
Following welding of the connections between the topsides and jacket the IOG/HSM/ODE Asset Management team conducted checks, which involved switching on the main power, establishing communications with the onshore control room was established, and post-installation ROV surveys.
