Independent Oil and Gas has signed off the Blythe and Southwark platforms for its Phase 1 gas project in the UK southern North Sea as mechanically complete.
HSM Offshore constructed both normally unmanned installations in Schiedam, the Netherlands, supported by consulting engineer Iv-Offshore & Energy.
Onshore commissioning and system testing activities are progressing and should be completed in May. The transportation barges are at the HSM quayside in preparation for load-out, and following departure checks, the platforms will be ready for sail-away.
Both are due to be installed before the end of 2Q, with first gas targeted for late summer.
The Blythe platform comprises a 750-metric ton (827-ton) topsides supported by a 1,050-metric ton jacket tripod (1,157 tons). Southwark’s NUI is larger, with a 1,300-metric ton (1,433-ton) jacket supporting a 900-metric ton (992-ton) topsides.
