MOSCOW – Lukoil is preparing to start development of the D33 field in the Russian sector of the Baltic Sea.
The project will employ a computer-assisted control and management system for all main and auxiliary processes, and modern blowout prevention equipment.
According to the company, the design avoids the need for offshore flaring of gas associated with the produced oil, with no offshore power generation.
Other plans include use of ‘environmentally friendly’ vessels, construction machinery, and internal combustion engines, and fish protection systems.
