LONDONPremier Oil has issued updates on its North Sea decommissioning and field development programs, ahead of the company’s forthcoming merger with Chrysaor.

Production from the Balmoral Area in the central North Sea ceased last November, with sailaway of the floating production vessel scheduled for this spring.

Operations also ceased in December from non-operated Scoter and Merganser fields.

At the Huntington field, where the FPSO departed last year followed by recovery, a second phase entailing recovery of the subsea equipment is due to take place next year.

In the southern UK gas basin, Premier expects to take FID on the Tolmount East project in 2Q, targeting first gas in 2023.

The FEED program, completed last year, called initially for a single well subsea tieback to the Tolmount platform, was completed in 2020. All supply contracts for the SURF, subsea controls and wellhead equipment have been finalized ahead of project sanction.

Once Tolmount East comes onstream (and potentially the near-field Mongour discovery as another subsea tieback to the Tolmount infrastructure), this will help extend plateau production from the Tolmount area.

Offshore Vietnam, Premier plans further well intervention work this year to slow natural decline from the Chim Sáo field, and a two-well infill program is scheduled for 2022. The company is seeking regulatory approvals ahead of tendering for a rig.

In Indonesia, a jackup rig campaign should start in mid-year involving one well workover and one infill well on the Anoa field, and other low-cost perforation activities to maximize gas delivery from the Natuna Sea block A fields.

During the first half of 2022 the company plans to drill its first well in the Andaman Sea on its Andaman II license, again pursuing gas.
