Suction anchors in place for Karish FPSO offshore Israel

ATHENS, Greece – Jumbo Offshore has installed the suction anchors for the FPSO Energean Power offshore Israel.
Within a period of three weeks, the heavy lift vessel Fairplayer installed 13 piles at the seafloor location measuring 7.5 m (24.6 ft) in diameter, 19 m (62 ft) high and each weighing 176 t, and a further pile of 9 m (29.5 ft) diameter, 17 m (55.8 ft) high and weighing 233 t.
Water depths range from 1,695-1,763 m (5,561-5,784 ft). Karish EPC contractor TechnipFMC commissioned the campaign on behalf of the field operator Energean.
According to Energean, operations were performed under COVID-19 social distancing conditions.

The FPSO will be used to develop the Karish and Tanin gas fields at a location 90 km (56 mi) offshore. The vessel will have a gas treatment capacity of 800 MMcf/d and liquids storage capacity of 800,000 bbl.
Installation of the mooring lines is now in progress with the project on track for first gas in 2H 2021.
