Development extension under review for Bouri oil field offshore Libya

Eni and Libya’s state oil company NOC are assessing a further development of the Bouri oil field in the Libyan sector of the Mediterranean Sea, targeting the undeveloped West and North areas.

TRIPOLI, Libya – Eni and Libya’s state oil company NOC are assessing a further development of the Bouri oil field in the Libyan sector of the Mediterranean Sea, targeting the undeveloped West and North areas.
The two companies are also working jointly on the Structures A&E project, designed to extend the gas production plateau of the Bahr Essalam field over the next few years, ensuring the supply of gas to the local market.
During a meeting in Tripoli yesterday with Fayez al-Sarraj, head of the Presidential Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord, Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi discussed the country’s general situation and the further complications introduced by COVID-19.
Descalzi reaffirmed Eni’s full commitment to its operational activities and projects in the country.
The company is also working on studies for a new gas power plant and providing technical supporting for renewable pilot projects in Libya.
