RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras has started an extended well test (EWT) on the Albacora field in the presalt Campos basin, 120 km (74.6 mi) from the Rio de Janeiro coast.
The purpose of the test on well 3-AB125-RJS is to assess the reservoir’s production and the characteristics of its oil. Output will head to the FPSO P-31, moored in 325 m (1,066 ft) water depth.
Data compiled will support development work for the Albacora revitalization project, and Forno is included.
Production from the field’s post-salt reservoirs started in 1987, through the FPSO PP Morais. Based on oil evidence in the presalt layer concession, the company conducted drilling and seismic studies in the surrounding Forno area.
