ZWIJNDRECHT, Belgium – DEME Offshore’s vessel Sea Installer has installed 102 Siemens Gamesa 7-MW turbines at the East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm, 43 km (27 mi) off the Suffolk coast in eastern England.
At East Anglia ONE, DEME Offshore was working directly for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
Turbine installation started in June 2019. During the winter both the Sea Installer and Sea Challenger were deployed on the project to optimize the installation progress, following severe weather conditions during autumn and winter.
The 714-MW East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm is a joint venture between ScottishPower Renewables and Green Investment Group.
The Sea Installer will now set sail to the Borssele 1 & 2 wind farm in the Netherlands, joining the Sea Challenger, for the installation of 94 Siemens Gamesa 8-MW turbines.
