BP issues three contracts for latest ACG development in the Caspian Sea

BP has awarded three contracts to a consortium comprising Saipem, Bos Shelf LLC, and Star Gulf FZCO for the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field development off Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – BP has awarded three contracts to a consortium comprising Saipem, Bos Shelf LLC, and Star Gulf FZCO for the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field development offshore Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea.

Two of the orders cover pipeline design, pipelay and related activities, while the third is for transportation and installation of four jacket pin piles, subsea structures and spools. Saipem estimates its share of all three contracts at around $145 million in total.

Previously the company’s XSIGHT division had worked with Bos Shelf and Star Gulf on the project’s FEED phase.

The ACG field is 120 km (74.6 mi) from the coast of Azerbaijan, and extends over an area of more than 4,000 sq km (1,544 sq mi).
