In collaboration with its partners, Halliburton will appraise potential storage solutions across the G-15-AP area.

InCapture and partners SK Earthon and Carbon CQ have signed an MoU with Halliburton for a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) development offshore Western Australia.

Halliburton Australia will undertake the work scope for a planned commercial-scale development on the G-15-AP permit, 150 km offshore the Burrup Peninsula.

In collaboration with the partners’ technical teams, Halliburton will assess and appraise potential storage solutions across the G-15-AP area and progress prioritized opportunities through the regulatory processes.

InCapture, as operator of the permit, sees strong potential for subsurface storage of CO2 emitted by industries in Australia, Japan, South Korea and other countries in South-east Asia.

The partners have been assessing storage sites in the G-15-AP area within faulted anticlinal structures. These are thought to offer good-quality reservoirs and sealing capacity.

Across the Burrup Peninsula there are various large industrial complexes, including mining and processing operations.
